More than 50,000 Entergy customers remained without power Wednesday morning as Southeast Texas began assessing widespread damage left behind by Tropical Storm Edouard.

At the peak of the outages, more than 70,000 customers were without electricity. Wednesday morning’s totals included more than 28,000 customers in Jefferson County, about 13,000 in Hardin Co, 8,000 in Orange Co and more than 4,000 in Tyler Co. Downed trees and power lines are among the biggest challenges facing restoration crews.
