A Tampa Bay woman is sharing her story for the first time, 8 years after being rescued from a human trafficking ring run by her own mother. Isabelle Hughes was just 16 when she was trafficked from her Brooksville home after her mother posted ads for sex on Backpage. Nine men and her mother were arrested in a 2017 sting. Now 25, Hughes is suing Backpage, Salesforce, and others she says enabled her abuse. The DOJ recently seized over $200 million tied to Backpage and will distribute funds to survivors.
