Man accused of impersonating officer ahead of Charlie Kirk memorial

Joshua Runkles was arrested on Sept. 19 after the Department of Public Safety said he gained access to the inside of State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, while armed without proper approval. He allegedly told police that his company, ATP Ministries, was conducting security detail for the event, but police could not confirm this. Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet shared a statement on Sept. 20, that read in part, “This individual was doing advance security for a known guest planning to attend the memorial service tomorrow. We do not believe this person was attempting anything nefarious,- however the advance was not done in proper coordination with the TPUSA security team or U.S. Secret Service.”
