Tony Earls is on trial for manslaughter in the death of 9-year-old Arlene Alvarez in Houston. Opening statements began on Wednesday, Sept. 17. Police say Earls shot at Arlene’s family’s vehicle, incorrectly believing the man who had just robbed him was in it.
