In 1972, Jeff Hayes was tried and convicted for the murder of a wealthy businessman’s wife. Eighteen years later, a detective reopens the case and uncovers a long-missing piece of evidence—a necklace—that proves Jeff’s innocence. Although Jeff is pardoned and released from prison, he struggles to adapt to life outside prison. His wife, Ellen, is stunned to discover that he’s still alive and is dealing with their rebellious teenage son, Cary. Jeff eventually lands a job writing a travel column for a magazine, unaware that his new boss is the son of the man who originally framed him. As he tries to rebuild his life, Jeff also attempts to reconnect with Ellen, Cary, and his estranged father, Jack. Directed by Michael Landon, the movie features Michael Landon, Barney Martin, and Casey Peterson.
